Advertiser Staff
Maui Memorial Medical Center has been selected as one of 68 hospitals to participate in a two-year project to improve patient care under a program sponsored by the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Maui Memorial is the only Hawai'i hospital participating in the Transforming Care at the Bedside project, which will be implemented at its Haleakala South medical/ surgical wing. The program examines nursing staff suggestions for improving the quality of patient care on medical and surgical units, where 35 percent to 40 percent of unexpected hospital deaths occur.
