It may be wet, windy for few days

A flash flood watch remains in effect for the entire state today as a "kona low" system west of the Islands will likely bring heavy rain and wind, forecasters said.
Today and tomorrow "should be pretty wet," National Weather Service forecaster Pete Donaldson said yesterday.
Heavy rains were reported yesterday on parts of Maui and the Big Island but it was "pretty spotty so far," Donaldson said. Last night it rained heavily in some parts of Windward O'ahu as well.
The moisture will spread across the Islands through Wednesday, the weather service said. There is also a chance of thunderstorms.
The flash flood watch was expected to remain in effect until Wednesday, but that could change.
"Kona lows are notoriously difficult to forecast," Donaldson said.
