Nu'uanu crash kills driver, 73

A Honolulu man died yesterday morning after a traffic accident at Luakini Street and Jack Lane in Nu'uanu Valley. The Medical Examiner's Office identified him as Harry Kozuma, 73.
Police said Kozuma was driving east on Luakini when his car veered off the road and hit a concrete and tile wall at a residence on Jack Lane. The car went through the wall and across the yard, then hit another wall and a carport before stopping.
Kozuma was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital at 8:06 a.m., police said.
Kozuma may have had a medical condition that caused the accident, police said.
KONA MAN HELD IN REPORTED SHOOTING
Kona detectives have charged a Kailua, Kona man with attempted murder and other charges in connection with a reported shooting Tuesday on Hao Kuni Street in Kailua, Kona.
The call came in at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday. Officers said a 66-year-old man was shot at several times during a confrontation near his home. The man was not injured and the gunman fled.
Later that evening, police took Mark Alan Coburn, 48, into custody. Detectives have charged him with attempted second-degree murder, terroristic threatening and several firearm counts. Bail was set at $100,000.
Coburn was being held at the Kona police cellblock pending his initial court appearance.
