HALE'IWA
Surfers to teach autistic children

Advertiser Staff

Surfers will spend the day with autistic children and their families teaching youths how to surf and sharing their joy of the water, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Hale'iwa Ali'i Beach Park.

Sponsored by Surfer's Healing Foundation, Special Day on the Waves is free and provides an opportunity for families and autistic children to meet others facing similar challenges.

Surfer's Healing was founded a decade ago when professional longboarder Izzy Paskowitz and his wife, Danielle, discovered that their autistic son found respite in the ocean.
