Moanalua junior had 10-1 record, 0.47 ERA for East champions

Moanalua won its first O'ahu Interscholastic Association Eastern Division championship this season and swept the East's top postseason honors as well.

Junior pitcher Sarah Robinson was named Player of the Year after going 10-1, with a 0.47 earned run average and 76 strikeouts in 74 innings. That included a no-hitter with seven strikeouts against Kaimuki and a three-hit, 1-0 shutout victory over Kalaheo.

She also was a leader at the plate, batting .444 with three home runs and 14 runs batted in.

Kristy Morikawa, in her first year at the helm, guided Na Menehune (11-1) to their first divisional crown after they lost the season opener to Castle. Moanalua also placed first baseman Britni Ronolo and outfielder Dawn Dela Cruz on the East all-star first team.
