A 25-year-old Kapa'a man injured in a car crash early yesterday on Kaua'i was flown to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.

According to police, the man lost control of his Dodge sedan on Kuhio Highway near the Wailua golf course at about 3:15 a.m.

The car slid onto the shoulder and struck a utility pole north of mile-marker four. The man was alone in the car.

He was taken to Wilcox Hospital and then transferred to Queen's for further treatment.
