State Rep. Karen Awana, R-44th (Honokai Hale, Nanakuli, Lualualei) will host a community meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Nanakuli to discuss PVT Landfill issues with state and city officials.

This will be the third such meeting Awana has scheduled regarding concerns among area residents about the private construction and demolition debris landfill in Nanakuli. The meeting will focus on updates and responses from officials, including those with the state Department of Health, to questions raised earlier by residents. The meeting also will attempt to formulate options and goals regarding the PVT Landfill.
