Kapolei Property Development broke ground yesterday on $80 million of road projects for the urban core of O'ahu's Second City.
The new roads are expected to form the central grid of downtown Kapolei and are expected to improve traffic flow in and out of the city.
The roads are part of the $172 million in infrastructure improvements that Kapolei Property Development, Kapolei's master developer and largest private landowner, is undertaking.
The eight projects include extension of Kapolei Parkway, Kama'aha Avenue, Manawai, Alohikea and Wakea streets, and Wai-aniani Way, as well as construction of Village Walk.
The projects are expected to be done by the end of 2010.
