TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"High School Musical 2," 8 p.m., Disney Channel. Bright and bouncy, this sequel will delight fans of the original. It will even modestly entertain some cynics. Yes, the story is lame, and the adults are overwrought. That was true of the original, too. Making up for that: A bubbly score, with nine likable songs from six different writing teams ... vibrant direction and choreography from Kenny Ortega ... and an immensely likable cast. Zac Efron — who co-stars in "Hairspray" — has helped steer his generation toward musicals. He and Vanessa Hudgens are perfect as beautiful teens in love and angst. This time, they're separated by the scheming Sharpay. The film starts with a vibrant end-of-school number, then settles into summer. Everyone has jobs at the country club, which is Sharpay's turf. She stirs discontent. Even then, you'll guess that this will all work out. You'll also guess that kids will see this film more than once.
