NAME-DROPPING: Garry Moore, doing his Little Richard shtick, has eased into the "Stars in Concert" production at the Waikiki Lau Yee Chai showroom on the fifth floor of the Waikiki Shopping Plaza. You may remember him from the "Legends in Concert" show. In this outing, he energizes "Lucille," "Good Golly Miss Molly" "Johnny B. Goode" and "Tutti Frutti." He's spelling Mitch Adams, the Elton John impersonator, after Adams was injured in an after-hours incident that left him literally in stitches. Moore and Adams will both be part of "Stars," perhaps in alternating roles. ...

Rip Taylor is in town for a month. Before arriving he completed a segment of the Disney Channel hit "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" segment (starring identical twins Dylan and Cole Strouse) and while here he's already guest-appeared on Andy Bumatai's "Night Time" prime time TV talk show on K5 (airing tonight at 9:35), taken in Jack Cione's "Skool Daze" costumed musical featuring Arcadia senior citizens (playing weekends through this Saturday), breakfasted with pal Robert Cazimero, and had his charts read to see if the stars and moon are in synch. ...

SIGHT 'EMS: That Tony Soprano sure gets around. James Gandolfini, who played the Mafia boss on HBO's "The Sopranos," shopped at Bailey's Antiques in Kapahulu a few days back, bought a number of aloha shirts and souvenirs, then returned the next day to pick up the omiyage. Wonder if those vintage silkies will be donned in future TV appearances? ...

Eddie Kamae's 80th birthday party last Tuesday at the Elks Club — with guys such as Mike Ka'awa and Ledward Kaapana taking the stage, and Genoa Keawe serenading a few doors down at the Waikiki Aquarium the same night, clearly indicated that these show-biz octogenarians are revered. Parking and seats were at a premium at both sites — and music flowed freely. ...

PERSONALITIES: Shawna Masuda, she of the lovely voice and bulging theatrical credits, guest-sings with pianist Kit Samson from 9 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Ala Moana Hotel's Pakele Lounge. Samson intends to showcase artists of note — vocally and instrumentally — at his Thursday spot. ...

Harris, whose husband Les is half of the Kalaeloa duo (partner is Taz Vega) that performs at Compadres, just found out that she's expecting a baby brother for son Hunter, 4. ...

RANDOM NOTES: How did Natalie Parker, 20, get Raiatea Helm to agree to perform at tomorrow night's Young Artists Helping Young Artists at the Hawaii State Art Museum? "I asked," said Parker, who interned at the Mountain Apple Co. (which distributes Helm's album) last summer. Parker also got Joey Caldarone to emcee and donate a painting to benefit the Louis Vuitton Creative Arts Program at the Rehab Hospital of the Pacific. ...

Bob Sandla Jr. has just been named editor-in-chief of Symphony magazine, the publication of the American Symphony Orchestra League based in New York. He previously was editor of Stagebill, serving as the New York Philharmonic's publications editor, and was an editorial consultant at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Meanwhile, brother Ray Sandla is publications manager for the Arizona Memorial Museum Association at Pearl Harbor. He recently wrote and directed "Shadow Warrior: Return to Iwo Jima," a documentary featuring Teddy Draper Sr., a Navajo code talker and two Iwo Jima veterans. The film will screen Sept. 7 at the Navajo National Museum in Window Rock, Ariz.

Both Sandla boys are Punahou grads and the sons of Robert Sandla. The former general manager of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra currently hosts "The Business of the Arts," a weekly interview program on KHPR, 88.1 FM. ...
