Lisa Nichols, an author and speaker who appeared in the movie "The Secret," will speak on personal empowerment techniques in Honolulu.

Nichols will speak on "Living the Secret in Hawaii: Creating Your Ultimate Joy," at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i, 2454 S. Beretania St. Tickets are $25 at the door.

Nichols will conduct her all-day workshop at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Aug. 18. Tickets are $175 in advance and $197 at the door. VIP seating and access is an additional $25.
