This year's Japanese Women's Society fashion show, themed "Nature's Inspiration," will feature the designs of Iolani Sportswear, Linda Iki of Iki Couture and Vicki Yamagasa Ragasa of KiYo Design.

While Iolani Sportswear put the spotlight on menswear earlier this year, introducing the '70s-inspired I'o Sport line, this show offers the family-owned company an opportunity to take a fresh look at the women's line. With a friendly nod to fashion icon Jackie Kennedy, Iolani's spring collection has a fitted, feminine flair.

The show will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the Sheraton Waikiki hotel. Tickets are $55 to $75. Funds raised will go to Kuakini Home, an elder care home, and to other projects that benefit Kuakini's senior population. Information and reservations: 371-0218 or 377-5146.

HOT'S HAUTE SALE

Opera enthusiasts, society couples and ladies who lunch have been saving their gently worn designer clothing for Hawaii Opera Theatre's "Second Chance" sale. Racks of recycled haute couture and hip retro fashions (think Prada, Manolo Blahnik, St. John and more) will be sold at a fraction of their original prices.

This year's event will be May 4 at the Honolulu Design Center, 1250 Kapi'olani Blvd., beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a Red Carpet Party with wine and pupu by Stage Restaurant, followed by a 6:30 p.m. fashion show and the sale itself. CAMPANILE HANDBAGS

Rome-born artist Dario Campanile is known for his vividly realistic trompe l'oeil paintings. His art took him to California, where he worked in film, sculpture and album cover design. Now he is taking his art to the street on artful handbags. His abstract paintings are now appearing on fine Italian leather.

UNDER A HULA MOON
