The old wooden bridge at Kahuna Road's upper junction with Kawaihau Road in Kapa'a will be closed for a month starting Monday.

The Kapahi Bridge crosses Kapa'a Stream below its junctions with Mo'alepe, Makaleha and Kapahi streams.

County officials said the one-lane bridge will undergo major maintenance, including the replacement of its wooden deck, chipping rust and repainting its metal girders and other work.

Drivers are urged to use other routes in the area and to anticipate delays in traveling through the region.
