Hawai'i no longer can claim the distinction of having the nation's lowest ratio of online job ads to jobless workers.

There was one ad for every 0.88 jobless person in Hawai'i in March, according to a review of Internet job classifieds by the Conference Board, a New York-based business research group. That trailed Wyoming and tied Utah.

Hawai'i was ranked the lowest in February. The highest ratio in March was in Massachusetts, where there was 4.32 people out of work for every Web job advertisement, the Conference Board said.

HONOLULU RANKS AT TOP FOR LIVING

Honolulu was the highest-ranked U.S. city in a global quality-of-living survey, helped by its high rating for health resources and sanitation systems.

The survey by Mercer Human Resources ranked Honolulu as the 27th-best place to live in the world based on 39 quality-of-living criteria, including social, economic, safety and transportation.

Zurich, Switzerland, repeated as the world's top city, narrowly beating out Geneva. It was followed by Vancouver, British Columbia, and Vienna, Austria, which tied for third-best. Auckland, New Zealand, and Dusseldorf, Germany, tied for fifth.

Baghdad, Iraq, was rated the worst city. Other poorly scoring cities included Brazzaville, Congo, and Khartoum, Sudan.

Honolulu tied with Dublin, Ireland, as the 27th-best city and was followed by San Francisco. Mercer ranked Honolulu second in the world in the health and sanitation category. Calgary, Alberta, was first.
