Members of the Sunset Beach Christian Church youth group fasted for 30 hours recently to draw attention to hunger and to raise money to feed the hungry.

Beneficiaries of the effort are World Visions 30-Hour Famine and the Once A Month Church in Hale'iwa, which feed homeless and poor people.

The students have raised funds also with a car wash, garage sale, paint-ball shoot and a "ransom" event.
