BYU-Hawai'i remains unbeaten in volleyball

Noelle Filimoeatu had 18 kills and 21 digs, and Christina Bobik added 18 kills as No. 9 Brigham Young-Hawai'i remained unbeaten with a 30-25, 30-21, 27-30, 30-28 victory over Hawai'i Pacific last night at the Neal Blaisdell Arena.

Lesina Funaki and Faylynn Merrick each added 10 kills for BYU-Hawai'i (18-0, 14-0) in the Pacific West Conference match.

LeeAnn Mapu had 56 assists, five aces and 17 digs for the Seasiders, who played without outside hitter Tuli Peters.

Barbara Martin had 22 kills and 25 digs for HPU (6-15, 3-9).

CHAMINADE WINS AGAIN

Vanja Radanovic had 19 kills, Trina Kauliakamoa added 17 kills and 11 digs, and Chaminade had 16 aces in a 30-16, 26-30, 30-17, 30-27 victory over Dixie State (Utah) last night.

Tamara Kauliakamoa had seven aces, 56 assists and 10 kills in the non-conference match at McCabe gym.

Chaminade improved to 17-4 overall; Dixie State dropped to 12-13.

HPU DROPS A PAIR

David Hague scored a hat trick as Grand Canyon (Ariz.) beat Hawai'i Pacific, 4-0, in a Pacific West Conference soccer match yesterday at HPU Windward field.

Hague also assisted on Alex Neve's goal.

Grand Canyon improved to 12-6-0 and 7-1-0; while HPU dropped to 7-6-2 and 2-4-2.

The Grand Canyon women (4-13-1, 4-3-1) got goals from Dana Szeghalim, Vanessa Young, Stephanie Barrow and Abigail Jenkins in a 4-0 victory over HPU (4-8-0 and 2-6-0).

CHAMINADE LOSES TWO

Kelli Brackinreed scored two goals and Amy Armijo had a goal and assist as Notre Dame de Namur (Calif.) beat Chaminade, 4-0, in a PacWest match yesterday at Saint Louis School.

The Argos improved to 10-6-2 and 7-0-1; the Silverswords dropped to 0-10-1 and 0-7-1.

Dorian Virrueta scored twice as Notre Dame de Namur (11-5-2, 7-1) beat Chaminade (0-14, 0-8) in the men's game, 3-0.
