Kanehisa Arime and three relievers teamed on a two-hitter as the Honolulu Sharks defeated the North Shore Honu, 1-0, last night in a Hawaii Winter Baseball game at Les Murakami Stadium.
The game between the Waikiki BeachBoys and West Oahu CaneFires at Hans L'Orange Park was postponed because of rain. It will be made up on Nov. 12 at 3 p.m.
Arime (2-0) worked 5 1/3 innings, allowing one hit while striking out five and walking one. Shota Kimura and Scott Roehl each followed with 1 2/3 innings and David Haehnel got the final out for a save.
The Sharks were held to five hits by three pitchers, but two hits came in the first inning when Honolulu scored the only run of the game. Atsushi Ugumori doubled with one out, and Eric Campbell followed with an RBI single to left.
Sharks second baseman Paco Figueroa batted 2 for 3, the lone batter to pair hits in the game.
