Get creative for Halloween, make (or recycle) child's costume

Rather than buy a new Halloween costume your child (or you) will wear once and throw away — not good for the 'aina — get creative with these ideas from www.earthshare.org:

Make one out of clothes and fabrics you already have.

You can also get creative with pieces from thrift shops.

Swap costumes with neighbors and friends.

After Halloween, be sure to donate your kids' used costumes to daycare centers or shelters.
