Three tons of candy for 3 parades on O'ahu

The Lions Clubs of Hawai'i will continue their annual tradition of passing out nearly 3 tons of candy and treats at three holiday parades on O'ahu this week.
Celebrating 80 years of service in Hawai'i, the 1,800 Lions of District 50 have volunteered their time and skills to serve the people of the state. Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service organization, with nearly 1.4 million members in 46,000 clubs throughout 200 countries.
The schedule of parades:
The Liliha-Palama Christmas parade begins at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow at Liliha and Judd streets and ends at Kohou Street on the west side of the Kapalama Canal. The parade is a 40-year tradition and is sponsored by the Kamehameha Lions Club.
The Kalihi Christmas parade begins at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at Kalihi Union Church on North King Street and ends at Kamehameha Shopping Center. The Moanalua and Kalakaua Lions will pass out 1 ton of taffy candy. The parade features several marching bands and the Royal Hawaiian Marching Band. Sponsored by the Kalihi Business Association.
The Hawai'i Kai Christmas parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kamiloiki Community Park, travels along Lunalilo Home Road and ends at Koko Marina Center. The parade features seven marching bands. The host Hawai'i Kai Lions Club will pass out candy.
