Kaitlin Koga, a 17-year-old senior at Roosevelt High School, won the Hawai'i's Junior Miss 2007 Scholarship Program Sunday at The Kamehameha Schools.
She will represent Hawai'i at the America's Junior Miss contest in Mobile, Ala., in June.
Koga was one of 11 high school seniors participating in Hawai'i.
Kimberly Takata, of Punahou School, was first runner-up, and Heather Miki, of 'Iolani School, was second runner-up.
Contestants were judged over the course of two days in the categories of interview, talent, scholastics, fitness and poise. Koga won top honors in interview, scholastics and poise.
Koga, who hopes to become a civil liberties lawyer, received more than $4,000 in cash scholarships, a four-year scholarship to Hawai'i Pacific University, a trip to Alabama for the national competition, a commemorative bowl from Gov. Linda Lingle, a round-trip interisland ticket from go! airlines, outfits from Iolani Sportswear and Cinnamon Girl, and a graduate test-prep course from Kaplan.
The Hawai'i's Junior Miss perpetual trophy will be displayed at Roosevelt High for a year.
