The Eighth Annual Sugar Mill Classic all-star baseball game for high school seniors will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Hans L'Orange Park.

The Hawaiian Stars features players from the O'ahu Interscholastic Association plus one from Kamehameha-Hawai'i, while the Aloha Stars has players from the Interscholastic League of Honolulu and others from the Neighbor Islands. All five Hawai'i high school leagues are represented.

At least three players in the game have signed with NCAA Division I programs: Pac-Five's Ronel Trias (University of Hawai'i at Hilo), Punahou's Bucky Aona (Southern Utah) and Iolani's Wally Marciel (Kansas).

The Aloha Stars will be coached by former Kaiser standout and Milwaukee Brewers farmhand Woolsey Rice and former Waipahu standout Mitchell Moran, who played in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.

The Hawaiian Stars will be coached Brendan Sagara, a former standout for Leilehua, UH-Hilo and the Evansville Otters who spent seven seasons as a minor league pitching coach, and Timo Donahue, a former Damien and University of Washington standout who played in the Cleveland Indians organization.

Since the game's inception in 1999, a number of players have gone on to play in college and the pros. The inaugural game featured Jerome Williams (Waipahu) and Shane Victorino (St. Anthony), who is now with the Philadelphia Phillies. The 2001 game had Kurt Suzuki (Baldwin), who went on to become a consensus All-American in 2004.
