UH's Hamamoto on WAC golf's first team

University of Hawai'i senior Jarett Hamamoto yesterday was named to the all-Western Athletic Conference golf first team.
Hamamoto, a Waiakea High alum, placed second in the WAC Championships on Wednesday after losing a playoff to New Mexico State sophomore Matt Edwards. Both players shot 211 for 54 holes.
The other first-team selections were Edwards, New Mexico State senior Danny Bowen, Boise State senior Graham de Laet and Nevada senior Adam Hagen.
Nevada senior Casey Watabu, a Kaua'i High alum, was selected to the second team.

WEEKEND SESSIONS ON WARM-WEATHER SEASON
The Hawai'i Speed and Quickness clinic begins its warm-weather season with sessions tomorrow and Sunday at the University of Hawai'i athletic complex.
Each session is $10, and includes coupons for Jamba Juice, Papa John's Pizza and Subway.
Sessions are 8:30 to 10 a.m. for ages 7-12, and 10:30 a.m. to noon for those 13 and older.
