Mesa counters Hawaiian suit

Mesa Air Group Inc., the Phoenix-based low-cost airline planning to begin interisland service this year, asked a court yesterday to dismiss an attempt by Hawaiian Airlines to have Mesa's entry into the market halted for two years.
Hawaiian argued in a lawsuit filed last month that Mesa was unfairly using information gained during Hawaiian's recent bankruptcy. Mesa said in a U.S. bankruptcy court filing yesterday that Hawaiian's lawsuit "is a sham."
FEWER CLIENTS AT H&R BLOCK
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — H&R Block Inc. said yesterday it saw fewer tax clients in February but still posted a slight increase in revenue.
The nation's largest tax preparer said 5.9 million customers came into H&R Block offices last month, down 5.1 percent from the same period a year ago. The number was offset, however, by a 27.4 percent jump in customers doing their taxes online or with the company's TaxCut software.
CHARITY TAKES ADIDAS TO COURT
NEW YORK — A California charity filed a $10 million trademark lawsuit against Adidas-Salomon AG yesterday, claiming the German sportswear maker improperly used its logo to promote a line of clothing designed by rapper Missy Elliott.
In a lawsuit filed in federal court in Manhattan, Break the Cycle, which promotes efforts to end domestic violence, claims Adidas has used the nonprofit's trademark to promote the Respect ME clothing line.
