Maui man charged with drug possession

A Maui man has been charged with a federal drug count after authorities said they found crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin in his car and at his Kahului home.
Noe Huerta-Escobedo was arrested Wednesday after Maui police conducted a "buy-bust" at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Kahului. Police said they found 318 grams of crystal methamphetamine in his car.
Authorities searched his home at Makali'i Street and found 1,515 grams or more than three pounds of cocaine and 2,260 grams or more than five pounds of crystal methamphetamine in the soles of sandals, according to federal drug agents' affidavit supporting Huerta-Escobedo's drug charge.
Also, 425 grams or about a pound of black tar heroin was recovered from sandal soles and a coffee container, the document said.
In addition, authorities found $32,950 in cash in clothing, a hamper, shoes and socks, the affidavit said.
After his arrest, HuertaEscobedo claimed responsibility for the drugs, the document said.
He was charged with possessing methamphetamine with an intent to distribute the drug.
