Another Las Vegas boom was set in motion with the recent unveiling of a scale model of Project CityCenter, the $7 billion behemoth that may change the face of the Strip. The mixed-use resort will cover 66 acres, and include one large and two boutique hotels. Evident from the model is the height of the hotel towers — all will be taller than the neighboring Bellagio, a tall structure in its own right. Project CityCenter will generate 12,000 new permanent jobs, making it the largest new-employment project in Las Vegas history. It's scheduled to open in 2009.

CHEAPER SEATS: Prices continue to drift downward for some of Las Vegas' pricier shows. Cirque du Soleil's "KA" at MGM Grand, "Zumanity" at New York-New York, and the just-debuted "Love" at the Mirage all are offering $69 seats. Add in a decent $82 price for the cheap seats at "Phantom of the Opera" at Venetian and the best-deal $49.50 seats at Mandalay Bay's "Mamma Mia!" and you can see the trend.

MORE 'ZUMANITY': Through Sept. 3, a "Sensual Summer Nights" special for "Zumanity" at New York-New York is $69; the package includes premium orchestra seating (normally $99), plus a free appetizer from the Eroticafe and free "Zumanitini" (their trademark martini). It's a 50-percent saving.
