Salazar, 'Anelaikalani, Holunape at Banyan Court

It's hula. It's jazz. It's Na Hoku Hanohano award winner Owana Salazar headlining "Hula Jazz and Hawaiian Music in the Courtyard" this evening at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider's Banyan Court.

Also performing: traditional Hawaiian vocal and instrumental group Holunape, pictured, and vocalist 'Anelaikalani. Salazar took home a Hoku award for jazz album of the year in June for the CD "Hula Jazz." The 5:30 p.m. concert is free. 922-3111.

Deborah Jackson, founder of Eldercare Hawai'i, will lead the workshops "Planning Ahead for Eldercare" (Saturday) and "The Caregiver's Journey" (Jan. 28), targeted at people caring for an older adult in Hawai'i.

Topics include finding resources and support, managing emotions and stress, and identifying and preparing for key transitions.
