Rescue units will resume a search today for a missing 79-year-old man on the Big Island. The man, who was not identified, was reported missing Thursday in the Kaimu area on the southeast coast, near the end of Highway 130 at the shoreline.

Rescue units including a helicopter, divers and personnel on foot from the Waiakea and Pahoa districts searched the area yesterday.

The man was reported last seen by a friend at 11 a.m. Thursday.

The search was to resume at first light.
