Advertiser Staff
Hawai'i is one of five regions where CompUSA will test market a new brand campaign promoting the company as the place for consumers to get the technology services and products "they need and want."
The campaign, featuring the slogan: "We got it. We get it," will include 30-second television spots and radio spots running 30 seconds and 60 seconds.
Besides Hawai'i, the campaign will be tested in Austin, Texas; Dallas; Phoenix; and Puerto Rico. In addition to the regional test markets, spots also will run nationally on CBS.
OIL RISES AMID NIGERIA VIOLENCE
SINGAPORE — Crude oil prices climbed by more than $1.50 a barrel today after militant attacks on oil pipelines in Nigeria renewed fears of more disruptions to supply from the oil-rich West African nation.
Light, sweet crude for March delivery gained $1.57 to $61.29 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Nymex trading yesterday was closed for the Presidents Day holiday.
Militants yesterday attacked a Royal Dutch Shell PLC pipeline and a boat the militants claimed housed Nigerian military personnel in Nigeria's swampy delta region, vowing to spread their campaign across the petroleum-rich south from where most of the country's crude is pumped.
MACY'S WORKERS IN N.Y. OK STRIKE
NEW YORK — The union representing 3,500 workers at four Macy's department stores — including the flagship Herald Square location — has voted to authorize a strike if talks with store management fail to resolve a contract dispute.
Sales associates, tailors, stock clerks, gift wrappers and other workers at the Manhattan store and three others in Queens, the Bronx and White Plains voted over the past week to authorize a walkout, union spokeswoman Carolyn Daly said yesterday.
At issue are healthcare payments and wage increases, she said.
