JAZZ FEST AT HALEKULANI

The Halekulani will host the Hawaii International Jazz Festival's spring event April 1, beginning with a 10 a.m. jazz clinic and culminating in an 8 p.m. concert featuring vocalist Ginai and the HJF All Star Band, recording artist/pianist/teacher Shelly Berg and a jam session. Members of the all-star band are festival founder/director Abe Weinstein, Gabe Baltazar, David Choy, DeShannon Higa, Rich Crandall, Abe Lagrimas Jr., John Kolivas, Robert Shinoda and Adam Baron.

WELLNESS FAIR MARCH 23

The PrimeTime Wellness Fair, aimed for those 50 and older, is from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 23 at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. Among the attractions: a Medicare seminar, massage therapy, door prizes, games, bingo, a cooking demo with Edison Ching of L'Uraku, pottery and crafts demos and entertainment. Health screenings will check glucose and cholesterol levels, blood pressure, vision, breast-cancer risk, hearing, antioxidants, bone density and more. Dr. Kalani Brady will talk about "Taking Care of Your Heart"; Dr. Gerardo Galang, on "Recognizing Signs and Symptoms of a Stroke."
