Medevac plan to be detailed today

A plan to continue aero-medical transportation services on O'ahu will be announced today by state and U.S. Army officials at Wheeler Army Airfield.
Since April 1, 2006, the service has been performed by the Hawaii National Guard Company C, 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation, based in Hilo.
SUIT CLAIMS SEX ASSAULT BY GUARD
A woman filed a federal lawsuit yesterday contending that she was sexually assaulted by a prison guard when she was an inmate at the Federal Detention Center from mid-2003 to July 2004.
The suit alleges she was sexually assaulted "on numerous occasions."
The suit asks for an unspecified amount of damages from the federal government, the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the guard, who could not be reached for comment.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney Elliott Enoki said the office wouldn't comment because it had not yet seen the lawsuit.
TEENS HELD IN ROBBING BUS RIDER
Two male teenagers were arrested late Tuesday night after allegedly robbing a 16-year-old on a city bus, police said.
The victim was riding a bus from Waikiki and was confronted by two other riders, ages 17 and 18. The 18-year-old allegedly had a knife and both teens demanded money from the victim, police said. The victim gave the money and reported the incident to the bus driver, who stopped the bus at the Chinatown police substation.
Police arrested the suspects on suspicion of robbery in the first degree. They were released pending investigation.

HIT-RUN VICTIM WAS WAILUKU MAN
WAILUKU, Maui — Police yesterday identified a pedestrian killed Tuesday in a hit-and-run on Honoapi'ilani Highway as Suk Su Ko, 37, of Wailuku.
Ko was walking home and ran into the road at about 4:30 a.m. when he was struck by the driver's-side mirror on a 2001 Audi sedan about 200 feet north of Keanu Street in Wailuku, said traffic investigator Lawrence Becraft of the Maui Police Department. The impact knocked Ko to the ground and police believe that less than a minute passed before he was run over by a second vehicle that did not stop, Becraft said.

PEDESTRIAN KILLED AFTER HIT BY TRUCK
KAPA'A, Kaua'i — A 78-year-old Kapa'a woman was fatally injured when she was hit by a truck at 7 a.m. yesterday while she walked on the sidewalk on Kawaihau Road.
Police said Theresa Fujitani was pronounced dead at Wilcox Hospital. She was struck by a pickup truck operated by a 28-year-old man. The truck veered off the road near Malakea Street, hit Fujitani, then slammed into a utility pole, police said. The driver and his passenger were taken to Wilcox Hospital.
Information on their conditions was not available.

FIRE DAMAGE PUT AT $350,000
The Honolulu Fire Department has estimated the cost of damage from Monday's fire at Precision Moving and Storage Co. at $350,000.
The estimate includes damage to some 850 storage containers, two trucks and the warehouse structure, said Fire Department spokesman Capt. Kenison Tejada.
The fire's cause has yet to be determined, Tejada said.
