TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Sweet Home Alabama" (2002, Fox), 7 p.m., or "Just Like Heaven" (2005, HBO), 7 p.m. It may be time for a Reese Witherspoon film festival. These two aren't considered among her best, but they're a start. In "Sweet Home Alabama," she's an emerging fashion designer, engaged to the son of New York's mayor. But she's already married; she must go back home and get her husband to sign the divorce papers. The cast also includes Josh Lucas, Patrick Dempsey, Candice Bergen and Dakota Fanning. In "Just Like Heaven," she's a diligent doctor. She is also soon dead, but that doesn't stop the romance.

OF NOTE

"Deliverance" (1972), 6 p.m., AMC. Here's a chance to catch Burt Reynolds at his best. He's one of the city guys (along with Jon Voight, Ned Beatty and Ronny Cox) taking a canoe trip into the wilderness and finding tragedy. A strong drama follows, beautifully directed by John Boorman.

"Ugly Betty," 7 p.m., ABC. A rerun-only night on all the networks starts with this episode. Betty tries a makeover before meeting a big-deal photographer.

"The Office," 7:30 p.m., NBC. While at a convention, Michael wants to organize a party in his hotel room. He gets Dwight to help.

"Grey's Anatomy," 8 p.m., and "Men in Trees," 9:01 p.m., ABC. Each show brings in an eccentric sister for a visit.

"Shark," 9 p.m., CBS. Stark is skeptical about prosecuting a company whose workers died in a fire. However, when an old enemy works for the defense, he's energized.
