Washington University loses Dacanay for season

Washington University (St. Louis) sophomore guard Shanna-Lei Dacanay suffered a season-ending knee injury against Maryville Dec. 13.
Dacanay, a 2005 Punahou School graduate, is the second All-State guard from Hawai'i to see her season ended by a knee injury. Gonzaga freshman point guard Tatriana Lorenzo, a 2006 Kamehameha graduate, injured her left knee against UCLA in a tournament in Hawai'i Nov. 25.
WU sports information director Nick Povalitis had no additional information as of yesterday.
FOOTBALL
Oregon senior offensive guard Palauni Ma Sun, Jr. (Kahuku '03) was named to the JCGridiron.com JUCO Transfer All-America Team.
Ma Sun transferred from Fresno City College.
Palomar sophomore offensive lineman Una Smiley (Moanalua) and Orange Coast freshman punter C.J. Santiago (Saint Louis '04) were named to the JC Grid-Wire All-America second team.
Orange Coast sophomore safety Chris Assily (Kaiser '04) was an honorable mention selection.
Smiley and Assily were also named to the California Community Colleges Football Coaches Association All-California first team.
San Jose freshman offensive lineman Shaun DelaCalzada (Kaimuki '06) was named to the all-Coast Conference team.
MEN'S WATER POLO
Stanford junior Forrest Schwartz (Punahou '03) was named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic team. He earned a 3.61 GPA in human biology.
MEN'S SOCCER
Santa Clara senior forward Keith DeVey (St. Anthony '02) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America third team.
DeVey earned a 3.71 GPA in communications. He was also selected to the NSCAA/adidas College Men Scholar All-Far West Region first team.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Azusa Pacific (Calif.) senior midfielder Jolie Nitta (Mililani '02) was named to the NSCAA/adidas Women's NAIA All-America first team.
SOFTBALL
Eastern Kentucky freshman Shyenne Hussey (Kailua '06) batted .423 with eight RBIs in EKU's fall season. She hit a grand slam against Dayton in the Miami University Red and White Classic in October.
WRESTLING
Dana College (Sioux Falls, S.D) freshman Bulla Tuzon (Baldwin '05) won by injury default over Brett Jarman of the University of Sioux Falls Dec. 8.
Tuzon, competing at 165 pounds, was winning by a point when the referee called the match in the third period.
