Balanced scoring boosts BYUH

Eric Boyce scored 17 points to lead five teammates in double-figuring scoring as No. 19 Brigham Young-Hawai'i trounced Arkansas-Monticello, 101-68, yesterday in a non-conference men's basketball game at Cannon Activities Center in La'ie.

Wu Tai-hao added 14 points, Paul Peterson and Junior Ale each had 11, and Lucas Alves and Jermaine Odjegba had 10 apiece for the Seasiders (8-2), who shot 57.9 percent (33 of 57) for the game.

Torre Doty scored 25 points and Nate Newell 24 for the Boll Weevils (4-5), who shot 31.6 percent (18 of 57) for the game.

HAWAI'I PACIFIC 67, HARDING 65

Patrick Towne scored 16 points and Hawai'i Pacific held off a late surge by Harding (Searcy, Ark.) in a men's game of the Hoop & Surf Classic game at McKinley gym.

Brandon Lee added 10 points for HPU (6-4). Matt Hall scored 25 points for the Bisons (6-6), who missed a layup attempt with one second to play.

NORTHWOOD 81, HAWAI'I PACIFIC 61

Jodi Ostergren had 19 points as Northwood (Midland, Mich.) beat Hawai'i Pacific in a women's game of the Hoop & Surf Classic at McKinley.

Megan Starnes added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves (5-6). Ashley Jenkins had 19 points and Jocelyne Norris had 10 rebounds for HPU (0-11).

MINN. MOOREHEAD 87, CHAMINADE 50

Jessica Fesenmaier had 22 points and 10 rebounds as Minnesota State Moorhead dominated inside with 56 points in the paint and a 54-27 rebounding edge in a women's game of the Hoop & Surf Classic game at Kilauea gym.

The Dragons improved to 8-4. Simrin Cummins had 18 points and four rebounds for the Silverswords (1-7).
