Last chance to see 'The Proposition'

I'd have likely checked out revisionist Australian western "The Proposition" even if post-punk champion of the morose Nick Cave hadn't written its unsettling script and music.
But since the Bad Seeds leader did dream up this violent tale of a bad man who'll get his slate of sins wiped clean if he murders his brother, I'll happily absorb "Kicking Against the Pricks" once more on the iPod and show up with popcorn and acrimony.
At the Doris Duke Theatre, 1 and 7:30 p.m. today. 532-8768.

FINAL WORD
"There's more to my music than the lyrics. You would only know that if you have open ears and an open mind, and you give me a clear channel."
