TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE:

"America's Got Talent," NBC, or "So You Think You Can Dance," Fox; both 7 to 9 p.m. Americans seem to love reality-show finals. Tonight, they have two to choose from. "Talent" has performances by its nine finalists. Then viewers vote; the million-dollar winner will be announced tomorrow. "Dance" has already had its final vote. Tonight, someone wins $100,000, a car and (if wanted) a one-year contract with Celine Dion's Las Vegas show.

OF NOTE

"The George Lopez Show," 7 to 9 p.m., ABC. Many of these reruns center on Carmen, George's teen daughter. At 7 p.m., she remodels her room without permission; George promptly charges rent. In the 7:30 p.m. story, George forgets his wedding anniversary; to make up for it, he promises to renew his wedding vows. At 8, Carmen's mom (suddenly jobless) home-schools her; at 8:30, Carmen and her brother go to extremes for popularity.

"American Masters: Albert Einstein: How I See the World," 9 p.m., PBS. Albert Einstein was a warm, humorous man, this well-made film says. He was a pacifist whom people would forever link to the atomic bomb. This 1991 documentary offers a moving portrait.

"Criminal Minds," 8 p.m., CBS. With Gideon staying home, on crutches, his team heads to Tennessee to face a typically messy case.

"CSI: NY," 9 p.m., CBS. A guy who climbs the Empire State Building wishes he hadn't. He sees a murder and then falls to his death.

"Law & Order," 9 p.m., NBC. Home invaders are turning deadly. After they kill an informant and his family, Borgia becomes bait.

"Laguna Beach" third season premiere, 10 p.m., MTV. We meet the new crowd for this reality show, which has pretty people in pretty places. One is the sister of previous star, Lauren.

"30 Days," 4 p.m., repeats 5 p.m. FX. A 37-year-old former college football player, large and red-faced and given to anger. This hour has him spend a month under the watch of a life coach. He scoffs at the new-age approaches. However there are surprising results.
