TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"House," 7 and 8 p.m., Fox. Even on a night filled with new shows nothing can match the power of this two-part rerun. The story starts with a policeman who is giddy — before and after he's shot. Dr. Foreman (Omar Epps) investigates and is then stricken with the same, mysterious ailment. He hovers near death and his dad (Charles Dutton) — a quiet, working guy — visits. Here are great actors with strong material.
OF NOTE
"Miss Teen USA," 7 p.m., NBC. The network aims young for this pageant from Palm Springs, Calif. MTV VJ Damien Fahey hosts with Shaun Robinson of "Access Hollywood."
"Parco, P.I." season-opener, 7 and 7:30 p.m., Court TV. This bizarre little series plays almost like a satire of cheap, cable-TV shows. It offers re-enactments — clumsily acted ones — of real cases handled by Vinny Parco, a private eye. In tonight's opener, a woman is worried that her husband's shady law partner will give him a bad name. In the second, a woman suspects that her husband is gambling with money from the family business. Both bring twists.
"According to Jim," 7:30 p.m., ABC. Filling the hole left by canceling "The One," ABC has three reruns. In the first, Dana frets because Ryan is racing cars; Cheryl worries because Jim is skydiving. At 8 p.m., Cheryl promises Dana her wedding dress — not realizing that Jim burned it. At 8:30, the wedding is ready — if Jim can find a clergyman.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. A college student on scholarship has been murdered.
"P.O.V.: The Hobart Shakespeareans," 10 p.m., PBS. PBS reruns this fascinating view of a Los Angeles teacher who used his spare time to produce Shakespearean plays with young, inner-city actors.
