Shimomura is Menlo's Female Athlete of Year

Senior volleyball player Kari Shimomura was named Menlo College's Female Athlete of the Year at the school's awards ceremony in Atherton, Calif., on April 19.
Shimomura, a 2002 McKinley graduate and the only four-time all-conference volleyball player in Menlo history, led the Oaks in assists (5.48 per game), and was second in digs (3.42) and third in kills (1.76).
Women's basketball guard Shannon Riley, a 2002 Maryknoll graduate and the only four-year captain in program history, garnered the Don W. Baer Award for showcasing all-around leadership. Riley is also Menlo's student government association president.
During her senior year, Riley was named to the All-California Pacific Conference Team. She was a President's Scholarship recipient.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Freshman guard Cheryl Lee (Maryknoll '05) received a Rookie Award.

BASEBALL
Before yesterday's game, Wilson was batting .323 (31 of 96) and tied for the team lead with 12 doubles in 31 games. Zablan was batting .311 (23 of 74) in 31 games.
Kiriu was 3 for 5 with a double in a 9-8 loss April 17. He was 1 for 3 in a 6-3 win later that day. He was 3 for 4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs in an 8-4 win April 18.
