Peace activist Cindy Sheehan will begin a three-island speaking tour in Honolulu this weekend.

Sheehan, of Vacaville, Calif., became the face of the anti-war movement last summer. After her son, Casey, was killed while stationed in Iraq in April 2004, she went to Crawford, Texas, to confront President Bush about the war. During the 26-day vigil that followed, hundreds of people joined her.

Sheehan will give a talk at 7 p.m. tomorrow at First United Methodist Church of Honolulu, 1020 S. Beretania St.

Sheehan, who recently staged an Easter encampment at "Camp Casey," just outside of Bush's Crawford ranch, is continuing to speak out against the war in Iraq and also is focusing on U.S. military threats to attack Iran over its nuclear ambitions.

Sheehan will touch down on Maui for a second talk at 8 p.m. Sunday, after a 6:30 p.m. screening of the award-winning documentary "Sir! No Sir!" at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater.

"Sir! No Sir!," winner of the audience award at the Los Angeles Film Festival and an Independent Spirit nominee for best documentary, tells the story of how thousands of American GIs rebelled against the Vietnam War in the 1960s.
