Think you've got the great Hawai'i novel in you? Or maybe you have an idea for the ultimate Hawaiian quilting manual. Now's your chance — the Hawai'i Book and Music Festival, taking place next weekend, will feature Pitch the Publisher sessions. Aspiring authors can try to sell O'ahu's top publishers on their book ideas.
Held by the Hawaii Book Publishers Association at their booth, the 15-minute mini business meetings run 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 22 and 23.
The publishers cover the gamut of genres. You have your choice of Henry Bennett of Kamehameha Schools Press, Benjamin "Buddy" Bess of Bess Press, Ron Cox of Bishop Museum Press, Jane Gillespie of Mutual Publishing, Bill Hamilton of the University of Hawai'i Press and Maile Meyer of Native Books and Ai Pohaku Press.
