Duane "Dog" Chapman and wife-to-be Beth Smith have been prompted to move by their growing fame from A&E's "Dog the Bounty Hunter" series. Their Kahala home doesn't have a security gate, so the couple will be moving to new, more secure digs this month. Oglers still can catch a glimpse of Chapman and Smith when the couple's at work at the Da Kine Bail Bonds office (on Queen Emma Street). By the way, Smith ran in the Race Against Violence 5K Run last Sunday. ...
Jack Cione is just back from a lengthy trip, visiting New York twice, and taking a Carnival cruise to Jamaica, Venezuela, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, among other stops. He saw 10 shows on Broadway, including "The Odd Couple," "Spamalot," "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" and "Chicago." He even bought an accordion in New York. "I used to play one before — and want to take lessons now," he said. With all that time on a ship, he also wrote material for his next "Mardi Gras Follies" and for a scaled-down version he'll stage in August at the Arcadia, where he and wife Maydelle live. ...
TROPICAL TOPICS: Charlie and Kate of "Lost" — that's Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lilly, an off-camera couple — dined at Baci Bistro in Kailua a few nights back. Posed for pictures, too.
Doug Baker, a singer-composer who wrote "Mr. 'Ukulele" for Eddie Kamae in the 1970s, will record 13 of his songs — a Baker's Hawaiian Dozen — at Pierre Grill's studio. Baker, who has chalked up beaucoup miles in the friendly skies via the cockpits of several airlines and NASA, used to pen an Island song every time he visited. He was one of the few pilots allowed to carry a guitar in the cockpit. ...
