Advertiser restaurant guide will be bigger, better than ever
We're putting the finishing touches on our 2005-2006 guide to Hawai'i's Best Restaurants. Look for it in next Wednesday's Advertiser.
The 68-page free guide includes the announcement of the 2005 'Ilima Awards, selected by Advertiser readers and our in-house food experts. More than 175 restaurants and take-out spots are listed, including an expanded Neighbor Islands chapter. The entire book has been updated and revised, and you can search for restaurants three different ways. The guide also will be available at www.honoluluadvertiser.com.
HO'OKIPA
DINE WELL AND HELP KCC PROGRAM
Ho'okipa, the popular fund-raiser for Kapi'olani Community College's Culinary Arts program, is coming right up: Oct. 13 at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel's Monarch Room. And, yes, that's a Thursday evening this year. Chef-instructors — including chef Grant Sato — and students will staff 11 serving stations on the lawn. A silent auction will showcase items from local restaurants, hotels and other gives. Ho'okena performs and Miss Hawai'i Malika Dudley will be master of ceremonies.
The event has sold out for the past five years. Tickets are $350 for reserved seating in the dining room, $100 for "grazing" tickets; $125 at the door. Tickets: 734-9544.
