Two golfers tied at 106th

Wailuku's Shayna Miyajima and Kailua's Bridget Dwyer both shot 4-over-par 76 yesterday in the first round of the LPGA Sectional Qualifying Tournament at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Miyajima (39-37) and Dwyer (34-42) are among 20 golfers, including Japan's Ai Miyazato, tied for 106th. There are 193 in the field. The top 30 and ties after 72 holes advance to the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.
The leader is European Tour player Becky Brewerton of Wales, who shot 67.

EX-SEASIDER SU LOSES AT USPTA EVENT
Former Brigham Young-Hawai'i player Wei-Yu Su lost in the semifinals of the USPTA International Tennis Championships yesterday at Marco Island, Fla.
The No. 3-seeded Su, of Honolulu, lost to unseeded eventual champion Paulo Barros of Orlando, Fla.
Su is an assistant men's and women's tennis coach and an information systems special instructor at BYU-Hawai'i.
