Honolulu Fire Department crews and the department's Air One helicopter searched the waters off Ala Moana Beach Park last night for a missing surfer.

Three surfers told police at about 6:30 p.m. that they had gone out earlier in the day but their friend, the fourth member of their party, had not returned and they could not find him.

By 9 p.m., the searchers had turned up no sign of the missing surfer.
