The big question to ask gifted and supremely accomplished sax man George Young, pictured, is, "Dude, who haven't you played with?" He's worked live and in studio with the likes of Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, Ray Charles, Garth Brooks, Mick Jagger, Marvin Gaye and dozens more. (Heck, even the Village People were fortunate enough to hire him, sans costume.) Young was also a member of NBC's 1991-95 "Saturday Night Live" band. Playing live remains his first love, and he'll do just that with a few of Honolulu's finest jazz men (guitarist Jimmy Funai, pianist Jim Howard, drummer Brandon Tucay) at The Willows restaurant, at 7 tonight. Tickets are $20 advance, $25 at the door. Call 952-9200 for reservations. Pray that he tells some stories.

SEXY, BUT NOT SCARY

Advice for singles going to Halloween parties this weekend: Skip the political costumes. That's according to a survey of singles conducted by It's Just Lunch, a national dating service for busy professionals. This Halloween, Martha Stewart, Saddam Hussein and Dr. Phil are totally out. Thirty-two percent of single men said sexy French maids would get their attention. (Duh.) Another 28 percent picked Catwoman (pictured). Single women want to see men in strong, manly costumes, according to the survey. Thirty-seven percent liked baseball players, 31 percent said pirates. (Guess George W. Bush just doesn't do it for single gals.)
