Isle wrestlers claim titles

Moanalua graduate Stephany Lee and Roosevelt's Clarissa Chun won wrestling titles and Saint Louis alum Travis Lee finished second at the 21st Annual Sunkist Kids/Arizona State University International Open last weekend at Tempe, Ariz.
Stephany Lee placed first at 72 kg (158.4 pounds), pinning Ohenawa Akuffo from the University of Guelph, Canada in 5:46.
Chun won at 48 kg (105.6 pounds), beating Alana King in the finals, 1-0, 4-0.
Travis Lee took silver in the men's freestyle in the 60 kg (132 pounds) division, losing to Saeed Azarbayni of Canada, 9-3, 5-3, in the finals.
'Aiea alum Krystal Kiyuna placed fourth at 59 kg (129.8 pounds).
Tanya Miyasaki (Castle graduate), Sadie Kaneda (Roosevelt graduate), Debbi Sakai (Mililani graduate), Ashley Truchan (Hilo graduate) and Clarrisa Calibuso (Moanalua graduate) also competed in the tournament, but did not place.
The event, the longest-standing international open wrestling tournament in the United States, kicks off each USA Wrestling season and features elite wrestlers from around the world.
The tournament is used as a selection tool for choosing Team USA's winter touring team.

HAWAI'I BOXERS RANKED
Seven Hawai'i boxers, including one female, are currently listed in USA Boxing's Junior Olympic (15 and 16 year olds) Rankings.
They are Ikaika Villanueva (90 pounds, No. 2), Tupo Kulihaapai (189, No. 4) and Gina Ramos (95, No. 1) of Kawano/Tiki Ent. Boxing Club; Thomas Juan (95, No. 10) and Keola McKee (101, No. 10) of Wailuku Boxing Club; Bruno Escalante (110, No. 8) of Waimanalo Boxing Club, and Kurtis Kala (145, No. 10) of Central Maui Boxing Club.
