San Diego State scored two first-half goals to hand the visiting University of Hawai'i women's soccer team its second straight loss, 2-1, yesterday.
Senior forward Natasha Kai scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season for Hawai'i (3-6-2) off an assist from sophomore defender Shawn Higa in the 65th minute.
Higa sent a long ball deep into Aztec territory, and a defender headed the ball back to her goalkeeper, but Kai intercepted the ball and sent a low shot to the right corner of the goal.
Jen Mello and Erika Sutton scored for San Diego State (8-5).

LAJOLA WINS SINGLES
'Aiea's Dennis Lajola switched to singles and won his match Friday in Barcelona to help Team USA's Junior Davis Cup squad bounce back from the frustration of missing out on the semifinals.
Lajola beat Brazil's Rafael Garcia, 7-5, 7-6 (7-5), as the U.S. won both singles matches to clinch the victory.
"Beating Brazil on clay in any competition under any circumstances is a great achievement," U.S. coach Mike Sell said. "I don't care if you are playing chess out there on the court."
Lajola and his teammates meet Japan for fifth place today at the Polo Club. Japan beat Australia, 2-1.
Top-seeded France is in the finals of both the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Fed Cup today after beating Ecuador, 2-1, yesterday.
