'Flight 29' debuts on Discovery

The cast of "Flight 29 Down" at Mokule'ia beach on the North Shore, play teenagers who become stranded on a deserted tropical island after their plane crashes.

"Flight 29 Down," the new teen and 'tween adventure series co-produced by Hawai'i Film Partners and shot on the North Shore, makes its national broadcast debut at 4 p.m. today on Discovery Kids on NBC.

The series opener finds a group of teenagers struggling to get their bearings after their plane crashes on a deserted tropical island.

The show starts Hallee Hirsch, Corbin Bleu, Johnny Pacar, Jeremy James Kissner, Kristy Wu, Allen Alvarado, Lauren Storm, John Kapelos and local actors Tani Lynn Fujimoto, Blade Rogers and B.K. Cannon.

The show — which was conceived before "Lost" hit the airwaves — was created by Stan Rogow ("Lizzie McGuire") and director D.J. MacHale.
