November is Native American Heritage Month, and Native Winds Gift Gallery in Kaimuki is celebrating with educational talks and workshops.

Jane Ely, author of "Remembering the Ancestral Soul: Soul Loss and Recovery," will sign her book from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the gallery. A Cherokee who lives on Kaua'i, Ely is a healer, teacher and dean of the Peacemaker School. She serves the American Indian community in Hawai'i by performing blessings, weddings and other ceremonies.
