Spartan shoes and handbags are out. Embroidery, bright colors, beading, bows and eclectic mixtures of leathers and fabrics are de rigeur in fashion today.
On top of this trend is Cindy Traub, creator of Cindy Says accessories. Her design aesthetic is all about wild and crazy mixes such as burgundy faux zebra and leopard combined with turquoise leather trim. Yikes!
Traub's first-ever Honolulu trunk show is today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sandal Tree in Ala Moana Center (mall level, mauka side, near Macy's). She'll bring new designs from Italy available for one day only by special order. Shoes are $70 to $200; embellished handbags are $700 to $1,200.
