TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"My Name is Earl," 8, 8:30, 9 and 9:30 p.m. "Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Jason Lee dominates NBC tonight. We get a four-rerun Earl-athon. Then he hosts "Live," with the Foo Fighters as musical guests. Not everyone is into the "Earl" humor. This is an off-center show, filmed without an audience. Earl (Lee) spent his life stealing and scamming and realizes his bad karma. So, after winning the lottery, he makes a list of people to whom he needs to make amends. Tonight's first episode involves a girlfriend he broke up with in a less-than-forthright manner: He faked his death. The second involves his habit of mocking people with accents. There are hilarious moments, as he teaches English as a second language. The third involves the fact that he broke his ex-wife's figurine. To replace it, he must back the winner in a mother-daughter pageant. The fourth, fresh from this week, involves an odd scam: He kept making a hapless golfer think he'd shot holes in one so the guy would buy him a beer.

OF NOTE

"Wizard of Oz" (1939, TBS) and "Saving Private Ryan" (1998, TNT), both 6 p.m. Great movies: "Oz" is for families; "Ryan" is an intense movie for grown-ups.

"CSI: NY," 7 p.m., CBS. Stella (Melina Kanakaredes) is in trouble after getting official complaints. She may have pushed a young suspect too hard by using a grisly photo.

"Most Outrageous Live TV Moments 2" (NBC), 7 p.m. Funny things that have happened to Rudy Giuliani, Bill Clinton and others.

"Old School" (2003), 8 p.m., ABC. Three pals return to their happy college days and create a frat house.
